Introduction
Effective communication is the basis for success in all walks of life. With this in mind the St. Paul’s Bachelor of Arts in Communication programme seeks to demonstrate how from the macro levels of industry, and media to micro-levels of small groups and interpersonal encounters, communication skills and principles can enhance success in life. The study of communication in different contexts will provide students with the unique opportunity to develop insights and understanding of the theoretical and empirical basis of this complex discipline.
The programme is designed to develop a critical awareness of the developments in the field of communication from the rudimentary use of pictures to today’s information superhighways. It provides students with opportunities to learn the foundational skills and practices of particular professional communication contexts. Undergirding the programme is an appreciation and deep regard for the Bible as the Word of God from which reliable examples for communication praxis can be drawn.
